Mindd Forum '14 Overview
Nutritional & Integrative Treatments for Environmental Illness
14 - 15 June 2014
Featuring World Experts on Biomedicine, Psychiatry, Psychology, Brain Plasticity, Nutrient Therapy, Diet, Natural & Neuro Therapies.
Mindd Foundation proudly invites you to the 7th Mindd Forum to be held at the Civic Pavillion, The Concourse, Chatswood, NSW (Sydney), June 14-15.
This year's forum will focus on Brain Health with the objective of supporting families to find immediate and effective Integrative Healthcare. Best outcomes result from teams of well-trained professionals and educated carers who work together to select, sequence and integrate treatments that treat the whole individual with a focus on treating core causes versus symptoms.
Integrative Healthcare Offers Treatment Solutions
Conventional treatment of "mental health" conditions has focused on pharmacology and psychotherapy. However, many nutritional and dietary treatments are proving effective by recognising that the brain is an organ and that the body impacts on the health of this organ. Helping the body achieve homeostasis helps support brain and "mental" health.
Conventional treatment of brain injury has assumed that once brain function is lost, it is permanently lost. The growing field of brain plasticity recognises that a range of neuro therapies has the potential to repair and restore brain function.
Integrative healthcare offers hope and real solutions for the whole family by integrating principles of dietary intervention, nutrient therapy, structural support, functional and naturopathic medicine, allopathic medicine, neuro & behavioural therapies, and lifestyle education to restore the body's natural ability to grow, heal and prevent disease.
Modern diseases are at an all time high and are effecting our children in large numbers. Emerging research points to diet and lifestyle impacting on the 70 trillion cells in the human body as well as the 700 trillion cells that make up the "good bugs" in our digestive tract. By recognising that disease is not solely genetic, we can take charge of our health as well as the wellbeing of future generations.
- Almost half of the Australian population (45.5%) experiences mental illness at some point in their lifetime (1).
